Shelbi Schnoor

Environmental Scientist

Ms. Schnoor is responsible for performing wetland delineations and stream system jurisdictional assessments for Terra Technologies’ Kansas City Office. As a field biologist within Terra Technologies' Wetland & Stream Assessment Division, Ms. Schnoor delineates wetland systems and prepares formal reports detailing project site soil classifications, vegetative communities, hydrology, habitat quality, and potential development constraints. She also aids in the research and monitoring of large scale wetland and stream restoration projects.

  • Williams Energy/ Transco Atlantic Sunrise Expansion, Wilkes-Barre to Lancaster, Pennsylvania (178 miles) - Ms. Schnoor performed preconstruction field studies that helped to implement the project with minimal negative impacts to the resources and surrounding communities. The field studies included wetland and stream delineations, noxious weed identification, general habitat classification, and mapping.
  • NU Transmission Ventures, Inc./ Northern Pass Transmission Project, Quebec/ New Hampshire border to Deerfield, New Hampshire (187 miles) - Ms. Schnoor conducted wetland delineations amongst the proposed transmission line, right of way, and related facilities. In addition to conducting these surveys, Ms. Schnoor participated in all field level QA/QC for the gathered data.
  • Thousand Oaks Development – Parkville, Missouri - Ms. Schnoor conducted a stream and wetland jurisdictional assessment on and assisted in the Section 404 Permitting and 401 permitting process for a 567-acre residential development. The remote sensing method, as described in the NRCS Engineering Field Handbook, was utilized in order to determine the location, size, and length of any water features that may have been impacted from grading activities on site before the assessment was conducted.
  • Coffee Creek Detention – Olathe, Kansas - Terra Technologies Inc. designed the treatment portion of the basin on the Coffee Creek watershed and Mr. Kahl managed the engineering aspects of this work. Geomorphic analysis revealed the stream to be predominantly stable which eliminated the need for extensive channel stabilization in conjunction with the improvements. The project includes primary treatment of runoff from a 300-acre sub watershed that has been monitored annually for effectiveness. Ms. Schnoor assisted in overseeing the annual monitoring of the stream mitigation plan which included bank stabilization and stream channel improvements, wetland creation, eradication of exotic species, and installation of native species of trees, shrubs, grasses, and forbs.
  • BNSF Intermodal Facility - Terra Technologies along with Swallow Tail LLC provides mitigation services for BNSF’s Gardner Intermodal Facility. The 58.93-acre Conservation Corridor was created to meet local and county requirements to manage storm water quality, as well as to provide on-site compensatory mitigation for impacts to streams and wetlands. Ms. Schnoor took part in the annual monitoring and reporting of the site which included annual inspections, stream and vegetation data collection, and an assessment of species establishment and relative coverage.
  • In addition to these projects, Ms. Schnoor has worked on dozens of other projects delineating 1,000+ acres of land
