David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for the WaterCrest Multifamily Development in Lenexa, Kansas. When constructed, the development will provide several hundred apartment residences in the Lenexa City Center area.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed development project. A total of 480 lineal feet of stream channel and 0.15 acres of abutting wetlands were identified as unavoidable impacts to jurisdictional waters. The project avoided 767 lineal feet of intermittent stream and minimized impacts to receiving waters through the use of upland best management practices including the planned construction of a wetland basin, rain gardens and bioswales.
Due to the permanent loss of a small quantity of stream and wetlands, mitigation credits will be purchased from the Stranger Creek Wetland and Stream Mitigation Bank where such surface waters are preserved through perpetuity under management by Terra Technologies.
