David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for the Village Cooperative Development site in Jackson County, Missouri. The project will help meet the demand for assisted family development along the 50 Highway corridor of eastern Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed site inspections to identify, delineate and map the locations of wetlands and other water bodies, and to document existing site conditions. A total of 0.14 acres of wetlands was identified as unavoidable impacts to jurisdictional waters of the United States. The Corps of Engineers has jurisdiction over all waters of the U.S.
The water quality 401 authorization automatically certified by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources provides conditions and guidance to address local water quality needs of the permitted activities.
Due to the permanent loss of wetlands, mitigation credits will be purchased from an approved mitigation bank in the service area of the project prior to the commencement of work within the regulatory jurisdiction.
