David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for the Watercrest Landing Residential Development in Lenexa Kansas. The development will help meet the demand for residential homes in western Lenexa Kansas.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States and to document existing site conditions. The parcel is approximately 76 acres in size and consists of agricultural land. Two ephemeral streams totaling 778 lineal feet, eight wetlands totaling 0.42 acres, and three ponds totaling 0.69 acres were delineated on the property.
The applicant received a Nationwide Permit 29 verification letter authorizing unavoidable impacts to jurisdictional surface waters. In order to replace the lost aquatic resources resulting from site grading, mitigation credits will be purchased from the Kansas River and Missouri River Umbrella Mitigation Bank #1 where such surface waters are preserved through perpetuity under management by Terra Technologies. The compensatory mitigation credit purchase must be completed prior to the commencement of work within the regulatory jurisdiction.
