David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for Valley Ridge Residential Development in Olathe Kansas. The project will help meet the demand for single family homes in the western area of Olathe.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed development project. Four wetlands totaling 0.44 acre, 3,339 lineal feet of intermittent stream, 3,116 lineal feet of ephemeral stream, and two ponds totaling 0.30 acre were identified.
Due to the requirement to place fill in wetlands and streams to facilitate site construction, some permanent loss of wetlands will result. Mitigation credits will be purchased from the Kansas River and Missouri River Umbrella Mitigation Bank Site 1 where such surface waters are preserved through perpetuity under management by Terra Technologies.
