Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a Jurisdictional Assessment for a 23 acre Fleet Maintenance Facility Improvement project that is owned by the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, Kansas.
The project site consisted of commercial land and a gravel base. Scientists conducted a wetlands delineation and jurisdictional assessment of wetlands and other waters of the U.S. within the project site. In accordance with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) administers the permitting of dredge and fill activities in waters of the U.S., including wetlands.
There were four wetlands totaling 0.36 acres, one perennial stream channel totaling 788 lineal feet, and two ephemeral stream channels totaling 984 lineal feet. It is likely that all of the wetlands and streams will be considered to be jurisdictional waters of the United States.
Scientists and engineers at Terra Technologies perform greater than 100 wetland delineations annually. For more information about Wetland Delineations, contact your local office of Terra Technologies.
