David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for a Tiffany Springs Residential Development in Kansas City, Missouri. When constructed, the development will provide several hundred single family residences in the Tiffany Springs area.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed development project. A total of 296 lineal feet of stream channel and 0.29 acres of wetlands were identified as unavoidable impacts to jurisdictional waters. The project avoided several thousand feet of intermittent stream channel, and minimized impacts to receiving waters through the use of upland best management practices including an extended wetland detention basin and the preservation of riparian stream corridor.
Due to the permanent loss of a small quantity of stream and wetlands, mitigation credits will be purchased from the Clear Fork Creek Wetland and Stream Mitigation Bank where such surface waters are preserved through perpetuity under management by Terra Technologies.
