Press Release:

Scientist Completes Endangered Species Assessment For Residential Development In Overland Park, Kansas

July 21 , 2014

David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm has successfully completed an Endangered Species Assessment for Terrybrooke Partners. T he project site is located at 175 th and Switzer and will be a single family residential development that will meet the demand for residential development along the 175th /179 th corridor in southern Johnson County, Kansas.

The project is located within the known range of the endangered Mead’s milkweed, Terra Technologies had to first complete an endangered species survey on the parcel to determine whether or not the endangered plant was present at the site. The survey determined that Mead’s milkweed was absent from the site and the results were submitted to the USACE for confirmation. The US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) administers the federal Endangered Species Conservation Act. To that effect, proposed projects impacts within the probable range of a threatened or endangered species requires consultation with the USFWS as to whether preferred habitat exists for the species of concern within the limits of proposed disturbance.
