D avid Flick, Principal and Founder, announces the firm has successfully obtained Clean Water Act Section 404/401 Individual Permit for the City of Overland Park, Kansas Stanley Drainage Improvements Project.
The applicant proposed to construct flood control improvements on Negro Creek and two intermittent tributaries to reduce the risk of life and property from overbank flooding.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed project. Negro Creek, a perennial tributary and other intermittent tributaries are present within the project area.
A permittee-provided mitigation plan was approved by the Corps for construction at the Swallow Tail LLC Coffee Creek Mitigation Site. The plan includes the improvement of 837 linear feet of intermittent tributary with restored riparian corridors and enhancement/creation of 2.0 acres of adjacent wetland and upland mosaics.
