David Flick, Principal and Founder of Terra Technologies, announces the firm has received the necessary Clean Water Act permit to authorize impacts to jurisdictional waters resulting from construction of the Stag’s Creek Mixed Use development. The project will help meet the demand for retail services and multifamily residential living along the Kansas Highway 7 corridor in Olathe.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed development project. One perennial stream channel totaling 453 lineal feet and one ephemeral tributary totaling 1,112 lineal feet, were delineated on the parcel.
The applicant received a Nationwide Permit 14 verification letter authorizing unavoidable impacts to jurisdictional surface waters. The project avoids all tributaries except at road crossings. For minimization, the project preserves existing riparian corridors. As impacts are below 0.10 acres of permanent loss, the applicant is not required to provide compensatory mitigation.
