David Flick, Principal and Founder of Terra Technologies, announces the firm has received a Nationwide Permit authorizing impacts to jurisdictional waters for The Preserves Apartment Development in Parkville Missouri. The project will help meet the demand for multi-family homes in the vicinity of Highway 45 west of Interstate 29.
Nationwide Permits that authorize impacts to jurisdictional waters resulting from most projects are limited to 300 feet of tributary fill. When requested by the applicant, the US Army Corps of Engineers can evaluate the merits of waiving the 300 foot limitation when impacts occur to a tributary whose function is impaired prior to impact. Impairments are often associated with the absence of riparian corridors and other stream impacts upstream and downstream from the project site.
To offset the loss of jurisdictional waters, the applicant will purchase credits from an approved in-lieu fee program in the service area of the project.
