David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for the Paragon Star mixed–use project in Jackson County Missouri. Located at View High Drive and Interstate 470, the project a s proposed will construct twelve (12) lighted artificial turf youth soccer fields with an adjoining commercial development including housing, lodging, office, hospitality, restaurant, and general retail services.
The project site includes eight individual wetlands totaling 22.8 acres and seven streams totaling 7,052 LF. Most of the wetlands form in the prior-filled sewer lagoon operated at the site until the mid-1970s.
Due to the requirement to place fill in wetlands to facilitate site construction, some permanent loss of wetlands will result. Mitigation credits will be purchased from the Clear Fork Wetland and Stream Mitigation Bank where such surface waters are preserved through perpetuity under management by Terra Technologies.
