David Flick, Principal and Founder announces that Myron Tipton, a 2012 graduate of Olathe East High School has accepted the position of summer intern with the Leawood office of Terra Technologies. In this capacity, Mr. Tipton will be involved in various mentoring roles including;
- Participation in the construction and ecological restoration of the BNSF Conservation Corridor in Edgerton Kansas;
- Development of an ecological restoration plan for the Kansas City Missouri First Creek Sewer Expansion project;
- Production and maintenance of approximately 600 species of native grasses, wildflowers, trees, and shrubs with a nursery in Belton Missouri;
- Natural stream channel assessment and maintenance on Dykes Branch in Leawood Kansas;
- Delineation of jurisdictional surface waters (wetlands and streams) on several projects in western Missouri and eastern Kansas;
- Archeological and historic property assessment of proposed private sewer collector systems in Platte County Missouri;
- Critical habitat restoration assessment and design of a proposed species preservation bank in Shawnee Kansas’
- Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting of a proposed apartment development in Leawood Kansas and a conservation lake in Perry Kansas;
- Maintenance of invasive herbaceous species on various US Army Corps of Engineers regulated Wetland and Stream Mitigation Banks in Missouri and Kansas
In this capacity, Mr. Tipton will partner with senior staff and principals to gain exposure to various aspects of ecological engineering, construction, and associated regulations. Mr. Tipton will attend Baker University in Fall 2012. Summer intern applications are accepted from January through March each year.
