David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for Mills Ranch Residential Development in Overland Park Kansas. The project will help meet the demand for single family homes in the southern area of Overland Park.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed development project. Eleven wetlands totaling 2.13 acres, 1,400 lineal feet of perennial stream, 1,342 lineal feet of intermittent stream, and 1,328 lineal feet of ephemeral stream were identified.
Due to the requirement to place fill in wetlands and streams to facilitate site construction, some permanent loss will result. Mitigation credits will be purchased from the Kansas River and Missouri River Umbrella Mitigation Bank Site 1 where such surface waters are preserved through perpetuity under management by Terra Technologies.
