David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for a new Menard store located at Highway K-7 and south of Johnson Drive in western Johnson County Kansas. The project will help meet the demand for building supply products in the area.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed development project. The project site is approximately 35 acres and consists of agricultural land. Six wetlands totaling 0.29 acres were delineated on the property. There were no streams or ponds. Because impacts to jurisdictional wetlands were less than 0.50 acres, the applicant received authorization for the activity under Nationwide Permit 39, Commercial Development.
Due to the loss of aquatic resources resulting from the authorized project, the permittee will purchase wetland credits from the Kansas River and Missouri River Wetland and Stream Umbrella Mitigation Bank Site 1 where such surface waters are preserved through perpetuity under management by Terra Technologies.
