David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for the Lenexa Logistics Centre Industrial Development in Lenexa, Kansas. When constructed, the project will provide 1.7 million square feet of light industrial and mid-bulk warehouse facilities in southern Lenexa in close proximity to Interstate 35.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed development project. A single open water pond and 3.04 acres of scrub shrub and emergent wetlands were identified as unavoidable impacts to jurisdictional waters. The project minimized impacts to receiving waters through the use of upland best management practices including an 7-acre extended wetland detention basin.
Due to the permanent loss of wetlands and streams, mitigation credits will be purchased from the Stranger Creek Wetland and Stream Mitigation Bank where such surface waters are preserved through perpetuity under management by Terra Technologies.
