David Flick, Principal and Founder of Terra Technologies, announces the firm completed design, permitting, and construction oversight of a substantial permittee-provided mitigation project in Leavenworth County, Kansas.
Constructed by Swallow Tail LLC, the project serves to restore approximately 16 acres of historic wetlands, prairies and riparian habitat on a hillslope adjacent to the Stranger Creek Stream and Wetland Mitigation Bank.
Historic ephemeral tributaries once existed to provide nutrients and hydrology to floodplain wetlands alongside Stranger Creek. Previously filled, impounded and channelized by farming, the project restores several thousand feet of ephemeral tributaries for connection to the 70-acre mitigation bank resource.
