David Flick, Principal and Founder of Terra Technologies, announces the firm has received a Nationwide Permit authorizing impacts to jurisdictional waters for the Legacy Woods Residential Development. The project will help meet the demand for single family homes in eastern Lee’s Summit Missouri.
A specific Nationwide Permit (NWP 14) can authorize impacts to jurisdictional waters resulting from transportation improvements. In order to the applicant to receive an automatic 401 certification from the State of Missouri Department of Natural Resource Water Control Branch, such improvements must limit upstream and downstream impacts. For the Legacy Woods project, minor geomorphic improvements were required beyond the required limit, thus the applicant submitted and received an Individual 401 Certification from the state to co-authorize the activity.
To offset the loss of jurisdictional waters, the applicant will purchase credits from the Clear Fork Wetland and Stream Mitigation Bank in the service area of the project.
