David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm has successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for the Olathe Health Services Hospice facility in Olathe . The hospital has long provided outpatient hospice services to critically ill and end-of-life patients, as well as some inpatient services in the hospital itself. The hospice house provides those services in a home-like environment near critical care facilities. Once completed, the hospice house will have eight suites for patients and their families, communal living and kitchen areas, flower gardens and around-the-clock nursing care.
Scientists at Terra Technologies consulted with the owner and design team to achieve avoidance of most high quality jurisdictional surface waters on the parcel, resulting in substantial conservation preservation, a centralized passive wetland treatment basin and native grass buffers.
Staff prepared the necessary submittals to receive Individual 404 Permit authorization. The permanent loss of a small amount of wetlands was mitigated through the purchase of mitigation credits from the Stranger Creek Wetland and Stream Mitigation Bank.
