Scientists Complete Jurisdictional Assessment Of Future Industrial Development Parcel In Olathe Kansas

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a Jurisdictional Assessment of a 206 acre parcel located at 159 th Street and I-35 in Johnson County, Kansas. The project will help meet the demand for Industrial space along the I-35 corridor.

The project site consisted of agricultural land and forested land. Scientists conducted a wetlands delineation and jurisdictional assessment of wetlands and other waters of the U.S. within the project site. In accordance with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) administers the permitting of dredge and fill activities in waters of the U.S., including wetlands.

There were sixteen wetlands totaling 1.31 acres, one perennial stream channel totaling 4,224 lineal feet, 2 intermittent stream channels totaling 1,510 lineal feet, 3 ephemeral stream channels totaling 2,404 lineal feet. The USACE concurred with our findings.

Scientists and engineers at Terra Technologies perform greater than 100 wetland delineations annually. For more information about Wetland Delineations, contact your local office of Terra Technologies.
