David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for construction of the Lakeside Technology Park in Hannibal, Missouri. The business park is being developed by the Hannibal Board of Public Works to attract manufacturers to the area.
A key feature of the business park is the creation of an 8-acre public recreation lake adjoining an existing park. Scientists with Terra Technologies assisted the civil engineering team with organization of key technical submittals in support of the project. Activities will require impoundment of two unnamed tributaries to Bear Creek.
Impounding a jurisdictional tributary requires an extensive quantity of compensatory mitigation due to the loss of stream habitat. Scientists with Terra Technologies designed in-stream and riparian corridor improvements to 1,921 linear feet of unnamed tributaries within the project watershed, creating approximately 12,000 stream credits of ecological gain. The compensatory mitigation project will be constructed by Public Works staff.
