David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm has successfully completed several hundred acres of Jurisdictional Assessments with cultural resource and endangered species for several future industrial development parcels in the vicinity of the BNSF Intermodal Facility in Edgerton Kansas.
Scientists with Terra Technologies visited each site to locate to describe and determine the limits of any streams, wetlands or open water habitats found within the limits of each future project site. Such field investigation is conducted in areas where hydrologic signatures are present on historical aerials, suggesting the presence of waters potentially subject to regulation. In many instances, site specific soil testing confirms the absence of such waters.
It is advantageous for developers to seek jurisdictional determinations from the Corps of Engineers well in advance of site development. When completed in combination with advance notices of development, much of the required correspondence necessary to obtain a NEPA clearance is in hand prior to submittal for a Clean Water Act Section 404 permit.
