Press Release:

Firm Receives Nationwide 404 Permit For College Meadows Residential Development

December 27, 2013

David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for the College Meadows Single Family Residential Development in western Lenexa. When constructed, the development will provide several hundred home sites.

Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed development project. A total of 584 lineal feet of stream channel and 0.49 acres of abutting wetlands were identified as jurisdictional waters. Through an iterative review process with the project civil engineer, the development was able to avoid the majority of surface waters and receive authorization without the requirement for compensatory mitigation. Often, the US Army Corps of Engineers will waive the requirement of compensatory mitigation when project impacts are limited to 300 feet or less of stream loss and less than 0.10 acres of loss for all jurisdictional waters.
