David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for the Cedar Creek Residential Development in Johnson County, Kansas The project will help meet the demand for single family development along the K-10 corridor of western Johnson County.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed site inspections to identify, delineate and map the locations of wetlands and other water bodies, and to document existing site conditions. A total of 0.48 acres of wetlands was identified as unavoidable impacts to jurisdictional waters of the United States. The Corps of Engineers has jurisdiction over all waters of the U.S. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) concurred with the Corps. This water quality certification provides conditions and guidance to address local water quality needs of the permitted activities.
Due to the permanent loss of wetlands, mitigation credits will be purchased from an approved mitigation bank in the service area of the project prior to the commencement of work within the regulatory jurisdiction.
