David Flick, Principal and Founder of Terra Technologies, announces the firm has received a Nationwide Permit authorizing impacts to jurisdictional waters for construction of the Bristol Highlands development. The subdivision will help meet the demand for single family residential living in western Lenexa Kansas
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed development project. Two ephemeral stream channels totaling 674 lineal feet and two wetlands totaling 0.13 acres were delineated on the parcel.
Nationwide Permits that authorize impacts to jurisdictional waters resulting from most projects are limited to 300 feet of tributary fill. When requested by the applicant, the US Army Corps of Engineers can evaluate the merits of waiving the 300-foot limitation if impacts occur to tributaries whose function is currently impaired. Impacts to regulated waters are limited to road crossings.
To offset the loss of stream function, the applicant will purchase credits from the Kansas and Missouri River Wetland and Stream Mitigation Bank where such surface waters are preserved through perpetuity under management by Terra Technologies.
