David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm has successfully completed Section 404 Clean Water Act Permitting for Clarkson Construction Company at 130 th Street and Speaker Road in Wyandotte County, Kansas. The area is to be used as an excavation and embankment for off-site project borrow material. The purpose of the project is to construct the KDOT Interchange Improvement Project located at Interstate 70 and Kansas Highway 7.
A Scientist with Terra Technologies completed site inspections to identify, delineate and map the locations of wetlands and other water bodies, and to document existing site conditions. The area is approximately 43.92 acres in size and consists of agricultural land. A total of 0.05 acre of wetlands and 540 lineal feet of ephemeral stream channel was delineated within the subject area.
The US Army Corps of Engineers verified the suitability of the project in compliance with Nationwide Permit 14 (Linear Transportation) with a special condition added in order to replace the lost aquatic resources that result from the authorized project. The client must purchase compensatory mitigation credits from the Stranger Creek Wetland and Stream Mitigation Bank.
