David Flick, Principal and Founder, announces that the firm successfully completed Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting for the Arbor View Single Family Residential Development in Overland Park, Kansas. When constructed, the development will provide several hundred single family residences in the area of Blue Valley Schools along 175 th Street.
Scientists with Terra Technologies completed a jurisdictional assessment of potential waters of the United States within the limits of the proposed development project. A total of 79 lineal feet of stream channel and 1.06 acres of farm pond fringe wetlands were identified as unavoidable impacts to jurisdictional waters. The project avoided several thousand feet of intermittent stream channel, and minimized impacts to receiving waters through the use of upland best management practices including an extended wetland detention basin and the preservation of riparian stream corridor.
Due to the permanent loss of a small quantity of stream and wetlands, mitigation credits will be purchased from the Stranger Creek Wetland and Stream Mitigation Bank where such surface waters are preserved through perpetuity under management by Terra Technologies.
