Terra Technologies has completed numerous projects successfully establishing native Midwestern prairies in both Missouri and Kansas. Our scientists possess practical horticultural experience with native prairie plants as well as the aesthetic sense to ensure that art blends with science to create healthy, stable, and attractive prairie or wildflower ecosystems.
We have extensive experience providing horticultural consultation to landscape architects and contractors regarding the selection of plant materials for specific soils. Staff members also perform time-meander surveys to ensure propagation of desired plant materials.
The family of Elmer L. Flick (David, Steve, and Cindy) is one of the area's largest private prairie landowners in the Midwest. Since the 1970s, David and his family have restored approximately 20,000 acres of agricultural property to native ecosystems including grassland prairies, savannahs, wetlands, upland forests, bottomland forests, and glades. Through proven success on these projects, the firm of Terra Technologies has developed standard restoration specifications which are utilized on approximately 10,000 acres annually by public and private entities including Doe Run, Archer Daniels Midland, Martin Marietta, BP Amoco, ExxonMobil, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, State of Missouri, State of Kansas, and more than 60 local city and county park and public works departments.
